APRIL NACHTIGAL

DIRECTOR OF TREATMENT SERVICES

April started her career at KPEP in 2004 as a full-time resident coordinator. She has held several positions including resident coordinator supervisor, case manager, therapist and program manager/clinical supervisor before her current role as Director of Treatment Services. April came to the job with extensive experience completing assessments and facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions. She is a Certified Clinical Supervisor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in psychology from Western Michigan University in 1996 and 1999 respectively. Prior to joining KPEP, April worked with adjudicated youth.

KATIE RYMER

PROGRAM MANAGER

Katie graduated from Western Michigan University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and began her career at KPEP in September 2015 as a Resident Coordinator. The following year, she transitioned into a Support Staff role before advancing in 2018 to the Eaton County Jail, where she served as a Group Facilitator for the WRAP Program.

In 2019, Katie earned a Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University, further strengthening her expertise in the field. She became a Substance Abuse Therapist in 2020 and stepped into leadership the following year as Supervisor of the WRAP Program.

Her commitment, professionalism, and leadership led to her promotion in September 2025 as Federal Program Manager at KPEP’s Calhoun facility, where she continues to make a meaningful impact on individuals working toward change.
