KPEP Spotlight: Karen Alvarez

Karen-Alvarez-newsletterKaren Alvarez has been selected as the new Program Manager at the Calhoun County facility. Karen earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Western Michigan University. She then attended The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and earned her Masters degree in Forensic Psychology. Karen is dually licensed as a Limited License Psychologist and a Licensed Professional Counselor. She is also a Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Counselor. Karen has worked with the criminal justice population for over 9 years. Karen began working with KPEP last summer as a therapist. Over the last year Karen has facilitated groups and provided individual therapy to sex offenders, substance abusers and individuals with dual diagnosis. Karen’s education and experience will bring a wealth of knowledge to the staff and residents in Calhoun County.
